There really are some things that are not fair

DH and I just called 911 to report a drunk woman we saw get in the car with her 2 children. Head on the steering wheel could barely walk drunk. I ran 5 blocks in shoes too big to try and follow her so we could tell the cops where she was. They got her.

And now I worry what this will do to her kids....but we couldn't let them get hurt.

She looked considerably younger than me, and those kids were not toddlers. So yes, I'm thinking "It's not fair" right now. Because we can't get pregnant and someone that obviously irresponsible not only did, but did twice, and is driving around with her kids when so drunk she can barely walk.

Things happen for a reason, people tell me that all the time. Tell me that reason, please. Tell me why that's okay, why THAT has a reason, and I'm here trying not to isolate myself from my friends because I can't have kids even though I would love them and cherish them and not intentionally put them in harm's way. Where's the reason in that? Huh? Someone please tell me...

  1. Unbelievable, I'm so glad you called the cops.

  2. Ughhh I am so sorry you had to experience that, but I am grateful you guys did the right thing!

There is absolutely NOTHING fair about it and until I reach the pearly gates...I will ALWAYS be wondering "why are some children born to people that neglect, abuse or even kill them."

  3. Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog for ICLW! I am happy to have found yours and am a new follower; I look forward to following your journey.

Absolutely not! You did the RIGHT thing! You could have very easily saved their life! You don't know what the outcome would've been of her driving drunk...way to go!! I would've done the same thing!

  4. I am so glad that you stopped her!

  5. Wow, I think it's great you did that- you know tons of people wouldn't have- and you're right- it isn't fair! I am so glad they caught her!

Infertility makes me HATE platitudes like "Everything happens for a reason." ACK.

    Happy ICLW!

  6. Good for you for standing up for those kids! At least once a week I see some ridiculous form of bad parenting, and I have wondered what made that person deserving of a child, but not me? And it comes down to the fact that deserving is not part of the equation. It's just a sad biological joke.

    Hang in there!

  7. Thank you for stopping by my blog.

No its not fair, sweetie, but thank God you were there to call the cops.

I hope everything works out for your IVF cycle coming up.
